The ColorChoice plant introduction system was developed by Spring Meadow Nursery. 

Established in 1981 by Dale and Liz Deppe, Spring Meadow Nursery, Inc. has become the market leader in flowering shrub potted liners (starter plants).

We actively market your plant.  Marketing is critical in the introduction of a new plant. Each ColorChoice selection has it's own marketing budget to convince growers and retailers to offer our new plants. Consumers recognize our new plants because they are marketed to consumers under the Proven Winners^®  ColorChoice^®  Brand. Proven Winners^®  is the number one plant brand in North America.

We're Serious propagators!  State of the art propagation facilities include over 14 acres of greenhouses. High pressure fog systems, traveling booms, bottom heat floors and computerized controls create the optimum propagation environment. Over 30 acres dedicated to stock plants. Eight acres of Cravo® retractable roof greenhouses. 

We're committed to the Green Industry!   We support horticulture research by actively participating in HRI  (the Horticulture Research Institute). 

We are active members of IPPS (the International Plant Propagators Society), ANLA (the American Nursery and Landscape Association), the Royal Horticulture Society of Great Britain, The Royal Horticulture Society of Boskoop, The Michigan Nursery and Landscape Association, the Friends of the National Arboretum, the American Conifer Society, the American Lilac Society, The American Hydrangea Society and Shamrock (The French Hydrangea society).

Facilities

Propagation Department:  

  ·   11 million plants propagated in 2006

·     82,000 sq. ft. (approx. 2 acres) Stuppy gutter connected greenhouse range.

·     Heated concrete floors, for minimum heat and bottom heat rooting.

·     Computer controlled environment: mist, heat, vents, fog.

·     Mist and water by traveling booms.

·     20,000 sq. ft. of prop. house with Mee fog for humidity control and cooling.

·     At peak we can stick and process 76,800 plants per day, 25 flats per man hour.

Growing Department: 

 ·     Over 14 acres of growing greenhouses. 

 ·     8 acres of Cravo retractable roof greenhouses.

·     Computer controlled for water, heat, and cooling.

Sales Department:

·     A database of approximately 12,000 contacts.

·     3,000 active customers across the US and Canada.

·     Trade shows: pants, cents, Great Lakes, mants, mid-am and gwaa, Ohio Short Course, New England Grows.
